New Liam Photos

So after the storage directory for my photo gallery was deleted by my webhost (long story), it took me about three days to get the thing put back together. While I was at it, I added some new pics. :)

Happy Birthday, Baby!

Liam is 1 Year Old Today!
(And all three of us survived the first year.)

No, he didn't actually eat any cake (and I'm perfectly happy with that). But he did have fun smearing some around his high chair. :D

Name Meme

When I was single, I was far more singular:

people with my name
in the U.S.A.

How many have your name?

But now, I'm quite common:

But damnit, I'm happy. ;)

From the 831st most common last name to the 17th. Big jump!

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month!

The Breast Cancer Site donates mammograms to low-income women. Apparently they are currently having trouble meeting the quota of necessary site visits in order to donate at least one
free mammogram a day. It should take less than a minute to go to their site and click on "Fund Free Mammograms" (the pink button in the middle of the screen). You can do this as often as once per day if you like.

This costs you nothing. Their corporate sponsors donate money for mammograms in exchange for advertising. I double-checked this on Snopes, and they say the site and program is legitimate.

Here's the web site:

Lime, no coconut

This bit from Neil Gaiman's Anansi Boys made me think of sharkcowsheep:

"You're no help," he told the lime. This was unfair. It was only a lime; there was nothing special about it at all. It was doing the best it could.

Baaa. Baaaaaa!

Mother's Day

Nearly a week later. Ahem.

It was a lovely day - and I mean that in all senses. It was cool and cloudy when I woke up, and since I've been having trouble with my hips (especially when sleeping), Mike immediately got up and ran a hot bath for me. While I was lying there reading, he went and made breakfast and brought it up to me in stages. The best part was the surprise blueberry pancakes. :D

As if this weren't enough, when I got out of the bath he told me he had another surprise: a trip to a nearby day spa. So I got dressed and we went merrily on our way, taking the convertible for a change since the weather had cleared while I was getting ready.

A pregnancy massage, facial, spa manicure and pedicure later (oh, and they brought me espresso - I'm so going back there), I was completely relaxed and actually felt semi-attractive again. Nice feeling!

When we got home, there was yet another surprise. Mike spent the day out shopping while I was at the spa (nearly five hours) and bought both a digital camera to replace my old one as well as a digital camcorder. We'd been talking about both purchases for months, since we want to be able to capture all the upcoming cute baby moments.

And then we went out to dinner at the Melting Pot in San Diego (actually in La Jolla, and they answer the phone both ways just to be confusing), which was the only bit I knew about in advance.

Yes, I know I'm spoiled. ^_^;

The Invasion is Coming!

As one of my coworkers stated: "Best Game Review Ever."

Happy Thingy!

I hope everyone had a lovely T-day (for those who celebrate it) and a non-stressful Shopping Day as well. :)
